1. Who we are

WhyCab is a pre-launch intercity-mobility technology platform currently operated by Gaurav Agarwal under the WhyCab brand (“WhyCab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This Policy applies to visitors to the WhyCab website and people participating in a passenger-app demonstration, invitation-only test, enquiry, or pre-launch evaluation. Public ride bookings have not launched.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

3. Why we use information

We may use personal data to provide and secure the website or test, authenticate users, demonstrate route and location features, respond to enquiries, diagnose errors, prevent misuse, obtain feedback, improve launch readiness, and comply with law.

Where consent is required, we will request it through an appropriate notice. You may withdraw consent by contacting us, although this may prevent continued use of the relevant test feature.

4. Sharing and service providers

We may share necessary information with providers supporting hosting, databases, authentication, notifications, maps, communications, security, diagnostics, and test payment processing. We may also disclose information when lawfully required, to address security or safety, or in connection with a business financing or restructuring subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal data for money.

Some providers may process information outside India. We will use reasonable safeguards and comply with applicable Indian restrictions on transfers.

5. Location and permissions

Location is collected only through an enabled feature and subject to device permission. You may deny or revoke permission in device settings. Doing so may limit route, map, pickup, or test-tracking features.

6. Retention

We retain pre-launch personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to run and secure the test, respond to enquiries, evaluate the product, resolve issues, or comply with law. We may delete or reset test accounts and test data before launch. Security logs and backups may remain for limited operational cycles before deletion or anonymisation.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask for a summary of your personal data, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent, or closure of a test account. Email gaurav@whycab.com. We may verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain information that is lawfully required or needed for security, fraud prevention, or an unresolved dispute.

8. Children

Pre-launch accounts and tests are intended for adults. We do not knowingly invite children to create test accounts. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to a pre-launch system. No system is completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate, mitigate, and provide legally required notifications.

10. Launch policy and changes

We may update this Policy as testing, providers, features, or legal obligations change. Before public bookings begin, we will publish a fuller launch policy describing actual passenger data flows, retention periods, recipients, rights procedures, and grievance arrangements.
