1. Who we are
WhyCab is a pre-launch intercity-mobility technology platform currently operated by Gaurav Agarwal under the WhyCab brand (“WhyCab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This Policy applies to prospective driver-partners who make an enquiry or participate in a Partner-app demonstration, invitation-only test, or pre-launch evaluation. WhyCab has not begun public bookings or live commercial driver onboarding.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on the test or enquiry, we may collect:
- name, mobile number, email, photograph, language, account and authentication information;
- information you voluntarily provide about driving experience, vehicle, route interests, availability, or launch interest;
- app interactions, test routes, simulated trip events, feedback, and support communications;
- approximate or precise device location when an enabled test feature requests permission and you allow it; and
- device, app, browser, IP address, notification-token, diagnostic, and security information.
Do not upload Aadhaar information, driving-licence images, vehicle documents, bank details, tax records, police reports, medical records, or other sensitive onboarding documents unless WhyCab expressly requests them through an approved secure onboarding flow.
3. Why we use information
We may use personal data to respond to enquiries, provide and secure test access, authenticate accounts, demonstrate routing and trip features, understand prospective-partner requirements, diagnose errors, prevent misuse, obtain feedback, plan the pilot, and comply with law.
Participation in a test does not constitute driver approval or guarantee future onboarding, trips, incentives, or earnings.
4. Sharing and service providers
We may share necessary information with providers supporting hosting, databases, authentication, notifications, maps, communications, security, diagnostics, and test payment functionality. We may also disclose information when lawfully required, to address safety or security, or in connection with business financing or restructuring subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal data for money.
Some providers may process information outside India. We will use reasonable safeguards and comply with applicable Indian restrictions on transfers.
5. Location
Location may be used to demonstrate route posting, pickup, navigation, trip progress, or safety functionality. Collection occurs only through an enabled feature and subject to applicable device permission. You may deny or revoke permission, although the relevant test feature may then be unavailable.
6. Retention
We retain pre-launch information only for as long as reasonably necessary to run and secure the test, respond to you, assess pilot interest, resolve issues, or comply with law. We may delete or reset test accounts and test data before launch. Security logs and backups may remain for limited operational cycles before deletion or anonymisation.
If formal onboarding begins later, we will provide a more detailed notice before collecting identity, licence, vehicle, banking, tax, background-verification, continuous-location, or other onboarding data.
7. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for a summary of your personal data, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent, or closure of a test account. Email gaurav@whycab.com. We may verify your identity and may retain information that is lawfully required or needed for security, fraud prevention, or an unresolved dispute.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to a pre-launch system. No system is completely secure. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate, mitigate, and provide legally required notifications.
9. Launch policy and changes
We may update this Policy as testing, providers, features, or legal obligations change. Before formal onboarding or live trips begin, we will publish a fuller Partner Privacy Policy describing actual verification, document, vehicle, banking, location, trip, safety, retention, disclosure, and grievance processes.
